Certificate Programs
Certificate Programs offer professional education to help you develop and apply your technical skills and knowledge to your plant systems to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity. The programs are intended for maintenance or programming professionals who want to stay ahead of the competition, accelerate their skills and knowledge using the latest automation control technology, and earn professional recognition and credits through a formal education program.

By signing up to participate in this program, we will send you a schedule of courses in your area and a Rockwell Automation hat. We will also send you a study guide at the time you enroll for the final assessment.
Program Requirements
Participation is self-guided using the curriculum map as your guide. You will complete a series of required PowerFlex Drives courses related to your job responsibilities, plus two course electives. For course details, refer to the curriculum map below. After completing the courses, you will complete an online assessment to confirm your Drives knowledge. To earn the PowerFlex Drives certificate, the program requirements must be completed within 12 months.

- Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to sign up to participate in this program?
No. You are not required to sign up for this program in advance. However, you must contact your local Rockwell Automation sales office or Allen-Bradley distributor to enroll in courses as you would in any other circumstance. To receive a certificate, you must complete your course requirements and final assessment within the 12-month time frame. You will be required to enroll in the final assessment by contacting the local sales office or distributor when you are prepared to take the assessment.
- Is there a time requirement for completing the program?
Yes. You must complete the Certificate Program requirements (both the courses and assessment) within a 12-month time frame.
- How long is the certificate valid?
The Certificate of Achievement awarded to students will not specify an expiration date. For validity purposes, it will specify the PowerFlex version for which students earned a certificate.
- Can I use my Training Savings Account to purchase the required classes?
Yes. You can use your Training Savings Account to purchase the Drives classes specified in this program.
- What is the online assessment and is there a fee?
Once you have completed the required course work for the Certificate Program, you must complete an online assessment. The assessment fee is $120. The purpose of the assessment is to measure and validate your knowledge as a result of the program. You will have 1 ½ hours to complete 50 multiple choice questions. You are permitted to use job aids and any other reference materials to complete the assessment, however, after 1 ½ hours, the assessment will time out and your answers will be recorded and scored. A passing score of 80% entitles you to the rewards and benefits of the Certificate Program.
- Can you re-take the online assessment?
Yes. You can re-take the assessment as many times as you want; however, the $120 fee will be charged each time you take an assessment.
- When and how do you receive your certificate and other benefits?
You will receive your Certificate of Achievement and custom Rockwell Automation shirt within 10-15 business days after successfully passing the online assessment.
- Can you substitute or test-out of any courses?
No. There is no test-out option for courses. The courses outlined in this program are mandatory and substitutions are not possible due to the prerequisite requirements of courses included in the Certificate Program curriculum.
- Can Personal Trainer be used to complete the certificate program course requirements?
Yes, Personal Trainer can be used to substitute the courses in the program as long as the training content and length, in number of days, is identical to the standard open enrollment courses offered in the certificate program. In other words, a 1-day Personal Trainer course cannot be substituted for an entire course in the program if it does not cover the entire course content and length.
- How do you enroll for the online assessment?
Enrollment for the assessment is the same as an enrollment for a course. You must contact your local Allen-Bradley distributor or Rockwell Automation sales office to enroll in the assessment. Once your enrollment is finalized, you will be notified via email with your user name, password, and website address where you can access the online assessment.
