Baseline System Comparison
- Check/Measure incoming AC line power from control transformer
- Measure and record PLC power supply voltage
- Check the ripple frequency (peak to peak) of the DC power supplies
- Chassis Configuration — complete Chassis Configuration form
- Review Task Status
- Communication Module Checks — complete Comm Module form
- Physical inspection of the network cabling at the chassis
- Document I/O Modules
- Document devices on each network
Periodic Backups
- Check firmware revision
- Backup each CLX Processor with RSLogix software
- Evaluate the current application program against the back-ups and archive as necessary
- Copy any additional customer files to a removable media
- Review customer approved periodic backup procedure
Environmental Analysis
- Measure control cabinet temperatures
- Inspect PC and cabinet filters
- Document condition of control cabinets
Battery Replacement
- Inspect battery status — date and install new batteries in 1756-LXX or 1785-5 if required
Visual Inspections
- Inspect all connections and terminations
- I/O Termination — check each terminal for tightness
- Review cable routing with customer
- Validate that wiring and connections is in accordance with Rockwell Automation specifications
- Verify analog wiring is correct
- Inspect system and module status (indicating LEDs, faults, etc)
Consultation and Remediation
- Review installed equipment revisions and compare against any known PSAs
- Review for program optimization
- Review maintenance logs
- Review onsite spare parts availability
