- Rockwell Automation fully warranted new or remanufactured replacement parts which ensures compatibility
- Full-service warranty that ensures we'll repair or replace the parts in the unlikely event of a failure
Preventive Maintenance Activities
| AC Drives | DC Drives | Human Machine Interface | Medium Voltage Drives | Motion Systems | Programmable Logic Controllers |
Baseline System Comparison
- Check/measure incoming AC line power from transformer
- Measure and record HMI power supply voltage
- Check the ripple voltage (peak to peak) of the DC power supply if 24VDC version
- Check for grounding issues
- Communication module checks — complete HMI Communication Module form
- Physical inspection of the network cabling at the HMI
- Document devices on each network
Periodic Backups
- Check firmware revision
- Backup each FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) Development application using Application Manager on the development system, and Runtime application by uploading the .MER file from the HMI
- Backup each FactoryTalk View Site Edition (SE) Standalone application using Application Manager
- Backup each FactoryTalk View SE network application using FactoryTalk Administration Console for the application and system configuration, and HMI Server Backup and Restore utility for each HMI server in the system
- Backup each RS View 32 application using the RSView32 tools -Transport
- Evaluate the current application against the back-ups and archive as necessary
- Copy any additional customer files to removable media
- Review customer-approved periodic backup procedure
Environmental Analysis
- Measure HMI cabinet temperatures
- Inspect PC and cabinet filters
- Inspect screen protector (if present), install new if required
- Document condition of HMI cabinets
- Observe if excess vibrations exist on the HMI and HMI enclosure
Hardware and Software Maintenance
- Clean all fans, dust filters and vents in the HMI
- Install latest roll-up patch set and Windows updates
- Check screen saver for HMIs
- Check FactoryTalk Diagnostics for errors relating to DCOM, vba and communications on computer HMIs
- Replace battery. PanelView Plus will show an error on startup saying "Clock/Calendar Battery Dead"
Visual Inspections
- Inspect all connections and terminations
- Review cable routing with customer
- Validate that wiring and connections are in accordance with Rockwell Automation specifications
- Inspect system and module status (indicating LEDs, faults, etc)
Consultation and Remediation
- Review installed equipment revisions and compare against any known PSAs
- Review for program optimization
- Review maintenance logs
- Review onsite spare parts availability
- Perform maintenance and record
