Manufacturing Assessment & Planning or MAP, is a set of consultative service offerings provided by Rockwell Automation that guide your organization through an assessment of your current manufacturing state that can result in manufacturing performance solution benefit opportunities.
Determining how to achieve real value and immediate impact from a manufacturing performance solution requires evaluation of your production environment. MAP consultants assess the interplay of business and production factors that drive production performance within your operations.
The level of analysis you can expect with the MAP offerings range from
- Suggested improvements
- Identification and prioritization of business issues
- Delivery of a strategic project through the initial strategy and design sessions (including budgetary estimates)
Manufacturing Assessment & Planning services are offered in three levels:
- Assessment MAP — The Assessment MAP delivers manufacturing executives and plant managers a rapid diagnosis regarding high-impact capital investments, process improvement programs, cost reduction initiatives and productivity tools. It helps you target plant and productivity improvements, mitigate associated risks and increase the speed of initiative launches. Our engagement is designed around a one-day onsite visit to a single facility and plant team. Direct contact with plant management, operational team leaders, schedulers and other critical resources provide invaluable insight that allows us to rapidly evaluate complex interrelationships.
- Value MAP — The Value MAP engagement will help you quickly determine how your plant can benefit from better information flow and or automation solutions. Operational Consultants take a hands-on approach; walking the shop floor, investigating and understanding how the facility operates through detailed interactive session with the clients personnel. The Value MAP identifies and quantifies how your manufacturing processes can work more efficiently through better utilization of information and automation solutions. The result is a prioritized list of operational issues summarized in simple concise format to determine the best use of funds for a maximized return on investment.
- Strategy MAP — A Strategy MAP engagement will create a "future state" vision for desired plant or enterprise improvement projects. We help you reduce risk by aligning with your manufacturing strategy, leveraging legacy investments, and using industry-supported standards. The engagement results in a success-oriented plan that achieves the expected business return.
