Extended Daylight Savings Time and Rockwell Software Products
Starting in 2007, the U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005 will extend Daylight Saving Time in the United States four additional weeks. Daylight Savings will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and end one week later on November 4.
Rockwell Software products receive time information from the underlying operating system; this includes any changes to the time due to Daylight Savings. Since the operating system time is used to perform many software functions such as validating software activation and time stamping historical data and diagnostic events, we recommend taking precautionary measures to make sure that your operating systems are patched to account for the Daylight Savings Time changes.
Microsoft® is releasing a global time update for its operating systems. Visit the Microsoft Daylight Savings Time Help and Support Center.
