Microsoft® Introduces New Operating System
Microsoft has released a new operating system: Windows Vista™. It is a workstation operating system with four editions and the successor to Windows XP.
Testing for Windows Vista usability with Rockwell Software products has begun. To that aim, RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSNetWorx, and RSLinx Classic are scheduled to be the first products to attain compatibility with Microsoft Windows Vista. Subsequent development activity includes reengineering Rockwell Software products currently qualified on Windows XP Pro SP2 to support Microsoft Vista Business Edition. Note, products currently qualified on a server operating system will continue to use Windows Server 2003, and it is not advisable for any current Rockwell Software product to be used with Windows Vista.
Rockwell Automation endeavors to provide its customers with quality software that meets marketplace demand — enhancements for Windows Vista are a priority. Watch this space for more details and scheduling information for future operating system support enhancements.
