Quotes

Driver Denny Hamlin on racing at Dover Int. Speedway…

"I have had fantastic Busch cars the last couple weeks. The work that my team has put in the off season and changes we seem to make each week just make our cars better and better. Carrying that kind of confidence to a track as tough as Dover is extremely important. Dover is a tough track that took me a little while to learn. Last year’s goal was to score some top-ten’s and we were able to do that (Cup Race – 1; Busch Race – 1). This year it is time to finish in the top five and maybe challenge for a win. They have one of the most unique trophies on the circuit, so I wouldn’t mind taking home my own 'Monster'."

Crew Chief Dave Rogers on racing at Dover…

"Dover is a fast track. You have to make sure your car is dialed in right off the truck or else you can fall behind quickly. We will spend most of our time getting off the corner; that is where the speed is at this track. Also, we will concentrate on qualifying because pit box selection is a big deal. This is such a tight pit road that it is easy to be blocked in or get involved in a pit road incident. We see it every race here."

Notes

Did you know — Of the six starts Denny Hamlin has made at Dover, he has been able to qualify in the top-ten for five of those. Last month (May), Hamlin won two Busch Poles (Richmond & Darlington). This is the third time that Hamlin was able to win back to back poles. He also won poles at Texas & Nashville (April 06) and Gateway & ORP (July / Aug 06). The #20 team won back to back poles with Hamlin (Kentucky) and Aric Almirola (Milwaukee) last season.

Car History — This week the #20 team is bringing car #2041. This is the same car that won the pole at Darlington and then went on to win the race. It marked the third Busch Series victory for Denny Hamlin and the #20 Rockwell Automation team. This is the third race of the season for this car, the first being at Bristol driven by Aric Almirola where he was running in the top 15 when a late race accident dropped him to 32nd. This is also the same car that won Darlington in 2006, however has been updated with a new 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo body.
