Product Certification
Certification for Marine and Off-shore Applications
Sea-going ships and, in some instances, off-shore oil/gas platforms are required to be "classed" by one of the principal marine classification societies before insurance is arranged and regulatory licenses issued. The marine classification societies also perform many other inspection, certification and auditing functions. Societies commonly engaged include American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Det Norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyds Register, Korean Register of Shipping and Registro Italiano Navale. Allen-Bradley has a total of over 300 specific products certified in Type Approvals by these Societies.
