Trusted is a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) controller designed to provide maximum safety and availability in all circumstances. Trusted incorporates a fault-tolerant architecture to virtually eliminate spurious system trips and provides high availability as part of its inherent safety-related functionality.
The Trusted TMR design uses a majority voting process to identify the source of a fault. Random hardware failures will cause one of three process control 'slices' to react differently to the others. This discrepancy will be captured and reported by the voting system. The Trusted TMR system will always react immediately to control system faults helping to ensure it meets the user's safety integrity requirements.
- Trusted™ Controller
Trusted is a highly compact solution; you can fit 240 TMR I/O channels in a single Trusted controller chassis, including a spare processor, dual Ethernet and multiple serial communications capability. At the heart of each Trusted system is the controller chassis housing the TMR processor (and a companion slot for a spare processor) and eight slots for I/O modules, communications modules or interface modules to connect to expander chassis.
- Trusted™ Expander
Trusted can connect up to 27 I/O expander chassis, each housing up to 12 I/O modules ( a maximum 138 I/O modules being supported). The expander chassis may be located up to 10km away and are connected to the controller processor chassis by triplicated 250Mbit/sec fiber optic links.
- I/O Modules
Trusted offers a wide range of dedicated modules, each designed to meet the SIL 3 requirement, for both analogue and digital signals. All modules have full 'stuck on/ stuck off' signal testing, configurable line monitoring and front panel status indication LEDs for each channel.

The Valve Test Module
Partial stroke testing of critical valves is a crucial feature that meets the latest process safety standards. The Trusted system integrates automatic valve testing inside a TMR; TÜV approved SIL3 architecture, this gives your system maximum safety and availability. With this package you are able to increase the system's SIL rating at almost no additional cost by periodically testing the valve and actuator subsystem without shutting down your process control system.
The Zone Interface Module
The Trusted Zone Interface significantly reduces the complexity of a Fire & Gas system by integrating all functions in a single module. It can be used in combination with any other Trusted hardware. The 40-channel Zone Interface module provides:- Fault tolerant monitoring of any 4-20mA gas detector, in addition to any low-voltage digital signal, with line monitoring. These include flame, smoke or heat detectors and manual alarm call points.
- Outputs for the control and alarm of hazards as well as the calibration of detectors.
The Speed Monitor Module
Trusted offers a high integrity solution for the protection of gas/steam turbine acceleration and over-speed prevention. The module provides:- Autonomous over-speed protection for up to three rotating machines. Each over-speed trip has three independent, fault tolerant speed inputs and a fault tolerant digital output.
- Speed inputs have a wide, dynamic range of 0.1Hz to 30 kHz.
- Sequence-of-events reporting with a 1ms resolution.
- Power Supplies
Trusted can be powered directly from a single or dual conditioned 24Vdc supply, or from ac power sources using a Trusted modular power system to provide redundant power feeds.

The Trusted product range includes all the integration materials required to build and commission a working system. This helps reduce the risk of errors by system integrators and helps prevent maintenance problems.
The TMR design and comprehensive diagnostics for field signals help the user maintain the system in a safe and efficient manner. And, because Trusted TMR is packaged to make it easy to use, life time cost of ownership can be lower than many alternative solutions.

Trusted is UL listed for use in Class 1 Div 2 Groups A, B, C and D and EExnAL IIC T4: DEMKO 05 ATEX 136991X. It also conforms to UL508 and certified to CSA C22.2 NO 14 and CSA C22.2 NO 142.
