The Cyclone Positioning Module is a high performance dual-axis miniature air bearing system that replaces bulkier conventional electromechanical actuators in pick-and-place type applications. It combines the latest brushless servo motor, optical encoder and air bearing technologies to deliver precise, programmable, position and speed control in an extremely compact package.
The revolutionary design shares motor, bearing and encoder elements on both the linear and rotary axes. The result is a low mass, compact, and easy to install module that is only 30 mm wide. The Minimized envelope dimensions allow multiple units to fit on a small mounting surface. This greatly enhances throughput and design options. In addition, its completely non-contacting design reduces particle generation for use in cleanroom environments.
