Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
European Union
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, effective August, 2005, applies to the collection, treatment, reuse/recycling/recovery and environmentally sound disposal of certain electrical and electronic products. Rockwell Automation products falling within the scope of the WEEE Directive are computer products (such as industrial computers, monitors, and accessories), plus some portable instruments (for data entry/retrieval, program storage, etc.). Rockwell Automation is committed to meeting our legal obligations under WEEE and has a program in place to ensure compliance for in-scope products.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive restricts the use of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment sold in Europe effective July 1, 2006. Rockwell Automation products falling within the scope of the RoHS Directive are computer products such as industrial computers, monitors, and accessories. As of July 1, 2006, all Rockwell Automation products that fall within the scope of the RoHS Directive will be fully compliant. Furthermore, Rockwell Automation's long term goal is to meet the RoHS material restrictions on products, even where compliance is not legally required.
Rockwell Automation Position and Commitment
