Bob Ruff, president, Asia Pacific, Global Sales and Marketing at Rockwell Automation is responsible for accelerating growth in the region and building relationships with key customers and partners.
Global Sales and Marketing (GSM) is the company’s customer-facing organization, bringing together global Sales regions, Channels and Marketing, Customer Care, Customer Experience, Sales Operations and focused selling resources for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Global Accounts, and Oil & Gas.
With 35 years of experience in the industry, Bob has served the company in a variety of roles and responsibilities. His career began with Reliance Electric in 1976 as a service engineer. In 1978, he became a sales engineer in Philadelphia, then a marketing/application engineer manager at the Regional Drive Center in Edison, N.J. In 1980, he was promoted to operations manager. In 1986, he moved into field sales as an executive account manager in Boston. Later that year, Bob was appointed regional sales manager, a position he held until1990, when he became regional sales manager for the New York/New Haven region.
Bob was named director of sales systems in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1993 and the following year he became the regional sales manager for the Cleveland/Pittsburgh Region. In 1996, he was promoted to industry vice president for Metals in Pittsburgh. In 1999, he was appointed vice president, Account Sales for the Central Region and was then promoted to vice president of the Eastern Region in 2000. One year later, Bob was named regional vice president of the Detroit Region. In 2002, he was named senior vice president, Americas Sales, a position he held until 2007 when he was named senior vice president, Control Products & Solutions.
Bob earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Akron University.
