John Cohn
Senior Vice President, Stategic Development & Communications
John Cohn is senior vice president, Strategic Development and Communications, having been named to this position in June 1999. (Rockwell International Corporation changed its name to Rockwell Automation on June 29, 2001.) Cohn is an officer of the company. He is responsible for strategic development and planning activities as well as a broad range of global marketing and communications as well as company business and employee communications on a global basis.
Prior to this assignment, Cohn served as vice president, Global Strategy Development, for Rockwell Collins where he architected the Rockwell Collins strategic and financial planning process. In this position, he provided leadership for acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and global partnerships.
Since joining the company in 1979, Cohn has held a number of senior management positions. He served as managing director to Collins DASA Avionics Systems GmbH, a joint venture of Rockwell Collins and Daimler Benz Aerospace based in Ulm, Germany. He also served as Rockwell's regional director for Europe, responsible for a wide range of business and market development activities.
Cohn joined Rockwell as an international trade specialist after graduating from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in Russian area studies in 1978. He earned a master's degree in finance and marketing from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984.
Cohn is a director of Woodward Governor Co. and serves on the board of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. He is also a member of the Milwaukee College Preparatory School of Wisconsin Capital Campaign Cabinet.
